A professional actor may or may not be a professional. Some actors only sing or dance, while others only work on radio. Actresses are women, but the word "actor" is used for both men and women when referring to a group. Thespians are also known as actors because of the first known Greek actor, Thespis.

Who is an Actor?


Performers are people who entertain an audience by acting, singing, or dancing. The actors play characters on stage or screen and work with the creative team to bring a piece of theatre to life.


What are the basic Qualifications Needed for becoming an Actor?


Qualifications –

Degree Level - Not required; bachelor's degree helpful in learning the craft

Degree Field - There are no formal education requirements to become an actor but a bachelor's degree in theater arts, drama, acting/ and performing
