GENETICIST
We all read about different human beings having different ability some are sharp or low
intelligence, tall or short. What cause these difference? What are the reasons behind this?
Geneticists are those who study about the the genetic, science behind the genes , heredity
and variations in organisms. Study the inheritance of traits focusing on a molecular,
organism, or population level, Conduct experiments to determine the origin, mechanisms,
and laws of inherited traits, Analyzing determinants responsible for specific traits to
understand the relationships between hereditary and factors such as fertility and maturity,
Treating patients who have a genetic disorder, Trying to understand how certain
environmental factors interact with genes to cause illness or disease.
We are survival machines - robot vehicles blindly programmed to preserve the selfish molecules known as genes. This is a truth which still fills me with astonishment.

Who is a Geneticist ?
Genetics is a subset in biology where genes, heredity, mutation , genetic variation and the roles of genetics in aging and disease is studied.
There are also several branches of genetics. A person who studies genetics is known as a geneticist while an environmental geneticist studies how environmental factors interact with genes to cause the various diseases or the adaptation of species to it.
They evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with hereditary conditions or congenital malformations, genetic risk calculations, and mutation analysis, as well as refer patients to other medical specialists.
The geneticist carries out studies, tests and counsels patients with genetic disorders.
What are the qualifications needed to become a Geneticists?
The applicant who want to pursue a career as a Geneticist must first complete their intermediate studies in Science with Biology as one of the main subjects.
After passing 10+2, students must have a grade point average of 60-65 per cent in order to be accepted into a good institution and complete a three-year.
He must then opt for higher education in a relevant discipline like genetics or medicine.
The candidate must also have some work experience before applying for the post of a Geneticist.
What stream is best/suitable/relevant to be a geneticists?
To become Geneticists one must have a science stream such as biology, chemistry, physics, microbiology, cell biology, bioinformatics, and mathematics.
They also participate in more specific genetics courses such as molecular genetics, transmission genetics, population genetics, quantitative genetics, ecological genetics, and genomics.
